🎶 “Is it worth it? Let me work it.” Missy Elliott
We love a Missy moment, and let’s be honest, it hits even harder when you’re staring at your calendar wondering how your success turned into a 60-hour to-do list.
If you’ve ever whispered “I can’t keep doing this” in between back-to-back meetings, this one’s for you.
Here’s the truth: you don’t always need a new role. Sometimes, you just need a new way of working. What’s actually broken isn’t your ambition, it’s the outdated mindset that says more effort equals more impact.
📌 “Burnout doesn’t always mean you’re in the wrong job. Sometimes it means you’ve outgrown how you operate inside it.”
Try this:
✅ Audit your effort.
Look at what’s taking the most out of you each week. Are those tasks aligned with your actual goals, or just habits you picked up to stay “useful?"
✅ Give yourself permission to pause.
Protect one time slot this week, even 30 minutes, to think, reflect, or simply not respond. You’re allowed to have space in your schedule.
Leadership isn’t about doing it all. It’s about knowing what’s worth your energy.
You don’t need to throw your career away. But you do need to stop sacrificing yourself at the altar of high performance.
✨ Missy said it best: Put your thing down, flip it, and reverse it. Start working your way.
