In today's fast-paced and demanding work environments, burnout has become a real issue for many women in the corporate world. I know this first hand because ...

4 months ago, against my better judgement, I quit my corporate job.

True be told, I grinded my entire career to land this demanding role, in a field I enjoyed. Despite being a daughter, a wife, a mother, a friend, I felt most validated in this role. In fact, I took great pride in detailing the ins and outs of this role when meeting people for the first time. It gave me confidence, it boosted my ego. However, daily the demands, the stress, the commute was eating me alive. Nail "this" milestone, rock "that'' presentation, get "x" recommendation heard by VP "such and such", was my rally call, but this grind, the one I befriended for validation, turned on me. You see, I invested ALL of my energy into those milestones, all of my patience on those meetings while snapping at my family, being short with my friends and dreading vacations. It was time for a change, but until Life proverbially slapped me in the face by me having to deal with my mother's deteriorating health, I was none the wiser. So to quote Maxine Waters, "I'm reclaiming my time." I am stepping away from corporate to take a much needed career break to recharge, to reevaluate, to recenter.

I've teamed up with Sam Loeffler to chronicle my journey. Have a listen I hope it encourages you. Click Here
